Clarke School Alumni Library

Clarke LibraryThe Alumni Library provides resources and service for the Clarke School students and their teachers. The book collection, magazines and other resources support the school curriculum and provide leisure reading for Clarke School students. Information brings greater knowledge to everyone at Clarke and ultimately helps deaf children succeed at higher levels.

The Bill G. Blevins Professional Library

The professional library has been a source of information to teachers, teacher trainees and other professionals from across the country for over 100 years. The library's specialized collection of 4,200 volumes and 85 journals provides information on all aspects of deafness and communication disorders. A core of special education texts provides an excellent source for strategies and models for educators and parents. The archival collection, which preserves documents, curriculums, text and personal books owned by school founders provides a unique insight into the history of oral education in the United States.

The Bill G. Blevins Professional Library Archival Collection

Clarke LibraryThis collection includes documents and texts which trace the history of Clarke School and of oral education in the United States. Ranging from personal narratives to instructional texts, the collection documents such subjects as curriculum, methods of teaching speech, and issues related to deafness dating from the early nineteenth century. The archival collection also includes a collection of Alexander Graham Bell books, some of which he used while teaching at Clarke. Informative primary resources dating from 1865 include Annual Clarke School reports and national proceedings of meetings of principals and teachers of the deaf.
