Vonetta Flowers left her mark in Olympic history when she became the first person of African descent (male or female) to win a Gold Medal in the Winter Olympics. Vonetta Flowers is not only an honored Olympic Gold Medalist, but a mother of a deaf child. Vonetta will bring hope and inspiration through her story and her journey. She has deeply personal experiences with overcoming adversity and challenges in her career and with her children. Her strength comes from her faith, her family and her persistence to bring positive changes and outcomes to her life and the community around her.
