About Clarke Pennsylvania
Located in Bryn Mawr, PA, Clarke Pennsylvania provides services to children from ages birth through preschool. All aspects of the child are nurtured in Clarke Pennsylvania's curriculum, including social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth in addition to speech and language.Opening in 2001 in response to the growing need for oral deaf education in Philadelphia and the surrounding area, Clarke Pennsylvania is a private, non-profit educational program devoted to teaching deaf and hard-of-hearing children to listen and talk. Currently, children with all levels of hearing loss are benefiting from our program that focuses on the development of listening, thinking, and conversational skills. Families come from throughout Pennsylvania for services.Clarke Pennsylvania has early intervention services and a preschool, and offers mainstreaming and cochlear implant rehabilitation services. Students use cochlear implants, hearing aids, and personal FM systems.About our StaffClarke Pennsylvania flourishes under the leadership of director Judith Sexton. The staff consists of a communications coordinator, an early intervention coordinator, four teachers of the deaf, a speech and language pathologist, and an office manager. The teaching staff at Clarke Pennsylvania is highly competent in the areas of cognition, language, speech and listening skill development, in addition to child development and education of the deaf.
